Writers seldom want to write about other writers (it's an ego thing). But today I want to write about a fellow columnist, former Senator Fern Shubert. Most people who read my column also know Senator Shubert's work but may not remember her campaign for governor in 2004. The central issue in her primary is the reason I am writing this column.
